First day at Aegif's Roppongi office

Last week's Alfresco gathering in Milan was great! After defining the future Alfresco certifications, we wrote hundreds of questions. I mostly wrote API questions, so people who try and pass the Alfresco API Developer certification will probably get a few of my questions :-) All of the answer are in the documentation, of course. We were also trained to become Alfresco WCM trainers.

I came back from Italy yesterday, and am now working at the 28th floor of the Mori Tower in Roppongi, Tokyo. I am working in Japanese. This afternoon, I replied to support requests in the Japanese-language Alfresco forum, and updated the Alfresco Wiki after investigating on export-import in Alfresco Enterprise.

  1. First of all, congratulations on your new job!

I'm Carolina, a student of japanese. I use Anki on my computer but would also like to use it in a smartphone. I wanted a smartphone with Android (i like this one more than Iphone).

If I buy a htc (so far I like HTC Hero, but I can wait till Christmas to buy one, if new HTC's start to appear, if I'm abble to resist till then haha).

How does Anki work exactly? I reasearched on it but didn't find a lot a stuff. Is it like Anki on the computer?

I've seen your youtube video and it seems easy to install.

Thank you so much for developing this!

An answer would so much be appreciated. No one answers to me in foruns/anki issues/wherever. Please drop me a message on my blog or send me an email to:

Thank you so much and sorry for the inconvenience.

  2. Olá Carolina,

The "Ankidroid" software runs on Android phones, I use it a lot on the HTC Magic that Google gave me. Ankidroid is quite different from Anki: it has much less features. But Ankidroid can read your ".anki" files fine.

The biggest difference is that Ankidroid does not ask you how you remembered a card. It just shows you cards from the deck, randomly. That should change in a month or two, as we are working on implementing the spaced repetition feature.

    頑張って!

  3. Olá! Thank you so much for your answer.

Good luck on implementing the spaced repetition on Ankidroid. It will help a lot of people. I can't wait!

I still haven't decided which HTC smartphone I'll buy, but it might as well be HTC Hero (Ankidroid works here, right?).

Is Ankidroid fast? Like, I click on the button and the answer appears right away without having to wait some seconds.

Once again, thank you so much! Adeus e obrigado ;)

  4. Ankidroid is extremely fast.
Unlike Anki, it does have to update intervals. That's why the next card appears immediately when you click "Next" :-)
